| it really depends on the size, flavor & decor you want. but i guess the best question would be your budget. how much do you want to spend on your wedding cake?
lately, most cakes are not all real...meaning, only a few are "true" cakes... usually the last tier and/or the top. but then again, it will always go back to how big you want your cake and how much you want to spend on it.
roughly, for a 3 tier fondant cake (which is far more expensive than a fondant-look cake), can start at about 5 thou (but quite small) to as high as you want.
but if you ask me, 20-30 thou is acceptable. however, if you go for a fondant-look cake, it can probably cost you around 10-15 thou, which is basically half the price.
where will be the venue? how many guests? do you intend to serve the cake to your guests?
